Discussion on a typologie of goals of science communication in Germany as well as on current challenges for its evaluation
In the fourth edition of Science&You in Metz (France) from 16th to 19th November 2021, students, researchers and science communication professionals will come together to discuss the challenges that are arising in different contexts and from communication technology and artificial intelligence. Based on analyses of the German status quo and informal discussion rounds with stakeholders from science communication research, funding and practice, the Impact Unit is going to present their perspective on current challenges of evaluation in science communication and discuss the roles of said stakeholders to overcome these challenges. Furthermore a typology of science communication aims constituted by three distinct dimensions will be introduced, which were identified through a qualitative content analysis of 120 documents by key actors of institutional science communication in Germany.
