Evaluation und Wirkung in der Wissenschafts­kommunikation

Um einen Eindruck vom Stellenwert und Stand der Evaluation in der deutschen Wissenschaftskommunikationspraxis zu gewinnen, führte die Impact Unit Ende 2019 eine Community-Befragung unter Praktiker*innen des Feldes durch. Die Ergebnisse der Online-Befragung bieten Einblicke in die Projektplanung in der Wissenschaftskommunikation, die Zielorientierung der Projekte, die Häufigkeit und Umsetzung von Evaluationen sowie die Qualitätswahrnehmung jener Evaluationen und Bedarfe in diesem Bereich. Dabei zeigt sich unter anderem, dass Evaluationen noch keine Selbstverständlichkeit in der Wissenschaftskommunikationspraxis darstellen, die Praktiker*innen Evaluationen aber in der überwiegenden Mehrheit für wichtig halten.

Evaluation and Impact in Science Communication

In order to gain an impression of the current state of evaluation within German science communication practice, the Impact Unit conducted a survey in the German science communication community at the end of 2019. The online survey offers insights into approaches to project planning in communication and the extent of goal orientation of the projects. Furthermore, the frequency with which evaluations are conducted, the types of evaluations, the assessment of their quality and the needs to improve future evaluations were surveyed. The survey shows that evaluations are not yet a matter of course in science communication practice, although practitioners overwhelmingly believe that it is important.
